Savings per month: $2,000
Welcome to the affordable housing of the future! This building in Los Angeles uses solar energy to bring costs down for both owners and tenants, and is also aesthetically pleasing, with patio decks and open air spaces. SES worked closely with the Los Angeles Housing Authority, the architect and general contractor to make necessary structural reinforcements and rearrange some rooftop equipment. This maximized the size of the solar system and provides the greatest tenant benefit.

90kW Affordable Housing Solar Power System on Concrete Tile
Savings per month – $2,000
Solar Electrical Systems installed a photovoltaic system on the Irvine Inn, the first CSI MASH affordable housing project in California. Irvine Inn’s owners were quick to see the advantages of investing in solar, so they hired Solar Electrical Systems because of their vast experience and long track record in the Southern California solar market. The solar electrical system eliminates electric bills for both the owner and the tenants in order to keep rents affordable. With rebates and tax incentives, the $585,000 project cost less than $105,000 out-of-pocket. In six years, the solar installation will pay for itself in solar savings; over the next 30 years, the owners and tenants will save more than $5 million combined.
