James “Greg” Johanson
President

Greg Johanson is the President and owner of Solar Electrical Systems headquartered in Westlake Village California. He has been a pioneer in solar energy systems, working in the industry for over 30 years, even before solar was cool. He has built Solar Electrical Systems into the largest, most experienced and most innovative full-service photovoltaic installer in Southern California. The company has installed over 1000 residential solar arrays and over 250 commercial and municipality systems in its 30-year history. With a vast experience in the industry, Greg is recognized as one of the few experts in the solar power generation field.
Greg is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for setting the first speed record for a solar car, piloting the Sunrunner, reaching a top speed of 41 mph.  He co-designed and developed the vehicle, which was the first car exclusively powered by solar energy.  He is also the inventor of a solar roof for the Toyota Prius, featured on solarelectricalvehicles.com. 

Alisa Montoya
Accounting

Alisa joined Solar Electrical Systems in 2005.  Alisa handles the company’s purchasing & inventory, human resources, payroll, benefits, and budgeting. She spent years managing commercial properties, overseeing leasing, inspections and budgets. 

Cheri Stevens
Contracts Manager

Cheri Stevens has been with Solar Electrical Systems for over 6 years.  She is a Certified Green Building Professional and a member of the board for CALSEIA Southern California chapter.  Cheri manages all bidding, contracts, and billing.  In addition, she is responsible processing the complicated paperwork required by the various utilities for rebate payments, and system interconnection… making solar simple! 

Lauren Dansey
Marketing Director

Lauren has been with Solar Electrical Systems since 2007, and is responsible for all aspects of the company’s PR & marketing. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and has been in the marketing field for over 25 years, working for KNBC-TV in Los Angeles, and Warner Bros. 

Dena Baldwin
Director of Administration

Dena joined the Solar Electrical Systems team in 2008.  As our Director of Administration, she is responsible for the smooth running of our office and joins in our sales efforts.  Dena comes to us with a background in construction and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Florida State University. 

Ben Stratton
Project Manager

Ben joined the Solar Electrical Systems team in 2010. As our Project Manager, he is responsible for our professional installation crew members, and overseeing the solar electrical system installations of our commercial and residential projects. Ben comes to us with a background in CAD design and construction and earned his degree in Business Management from California State University Northridge. Ben is a B-License General Contractor.

Dan Denning
Field Supervisor

Dan joined the Solar Electrical Systems team in 2007.  Dan plays an important role in supervising the installation crew members on the field and heading up all residential & commercial installation projects.  He won’t leave the job site till the customer is satisfied and the system is working perfectly. 

Tracey Huffman
Administrator, Sales & Marketing Coordinator

Tracey joined Solar Electrical Systems in 2008.  She provides administrative support directly to the Office Manager and Contracts Department, ensuring all rebate applications and incentive claim requests are processed in a timely manner.  Tracey provides excellent customer service for our Solar Electrical Systems clientele as well as prospective new customers, and is responsible for putting together our digital owner’s manual.  Prior to her employment at SES, she worked for various companies where she held clerical positions and has had extensive experience in customer service and administrative support. 

 
Mark Benedicto
CAD Drafter

Mark has been with Solar Electrical Systems since 2007 in our CAD Department.  He plays an essential role in developing detailed CAD drawings for Residential and Commercial solar electrical system projects, as well as preparing permit packages.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from University of San Carlos in the Philippines.  His 9 years of experience in Architectural rendering ensures that Solar Electrical Systems installs the best-looking systems in Southern California.
